Do not judge others,.....

When will I be able to turn the television on and not see the viciousness, hostility, vengeance being leveled against Casey Anthony? I must admit that during her trial I was eager to watch TV to see if she was going to be convicted of responsibility for the death of her child; I probably entertained the thoughts of her being convicted for murder. Looking at her face, it seemed unnatural; especially when I would see her turn towards her lawyers with a giggle or smile. To be truthful I didn't have many good thoughts about her and I thought she would be convicted for something, showing that she had some responsibility for the disappearance and death of her daughter.

But the jury found her not guilty of all the charges involving the death of her child. At that time I wrote a post in which I expressed the opinion that the jury made a mistake in simply acquitting her because there were so many unanswered questions and it seems that she must have had some responsibility in the death of her daughter. But that's what the jury decided. It would have been better had she gotten a new trial in which, hopefully, a much more professional job were to be done both by the prosecution and the defense. It was too much of a circus.

Justice could be better served in these kinds of trials, where the public audience becomes too involved in trying to assess guilt or innocence, by not having the trial made public.  Justice is hard enough to be meted out when human beings, full of all kinds of faults and prejudices themselves, attempt to honestly serve justice, but with the media feeding what amounts to a mob mentality, with all kinds of twists of truth and falsehood, it becomes a melodrama whose ending must be in conformity with, often times, a perverse conclusion.

To now see Casey Anthony being judged by a public mob
should make us wonder what kind of a culture has brought us to this state.  She has been acquitted, not found innocent, but she cannot be tried again for those offenses.  Whether she is innocent or guilty, or to what extent she is guilty, is now no longer up to our system of justice.

Many people cannot properly deal with this fact because they simply do not understand that the final arbiter of justice and guilt or innocence is God. I believe in God and his justice enough to make me understand that this young woman will in the and receive a fair and just trial, along with any mercy, from God.

If we are Christians and believe in the words of Jesus Christ, we must understand that this woman may, now, not be judged by us but by God. Those people I saw on TV with signs of hatred wishing Casey in hell have not understood what Jesus meant when he said: as you judge, so you also will be judged. If we harbor such hatred in our hearts for Casey, whether we realize it or not, we are being judged to hell ourselves. This is pointless.

There are many things that we can direct our energies to: making the next such trial less of a circus and more geared to seeing true justice done, as near as we can, in this life. We should also work hard in seeing that our young people are educated wisely and with Truth.

Our educational system is so wanting in clarity of thought, so wanting in instilling in our young the Truth that there is a God; a God Who may be worshiped as we please but Who wants us to live in a way in which we are not always the center of attention, where we are not always looking for the easy way, for pleasure and things which may be injurious to our minds, to our hearts, bodies, and also injurious to others.

That's why I write the things that I do, with the hope that even one person might better understands the true values in life, which center about helping others and not just ourselves.  Besides, writing these thoughts keep me more in balance with God's way and not just my own.
