What the Doctors Don't Know

When yet unborn in his mother's womb, doctors said this guy would not survive and needed to be aborted in order to save his mother's life.  But his mother's faith and trust in God resulted in her baby being born, malnourished but alive, to play his role in God's kingdom here on earth.  Hear the story in his own words:



And some at hospital in Arizona would have had this guy described below, a 21 year old college student, presumably fatally injured in a car accident, unplugged from life support so his organs could be harvested, except for the expertise and patience of the doctor, the courage of family members in resisting the subtle push of those wanting organs donated, and the love and support of family surrounding the patient which, by acknowledgement of the doctor, must have had some effect in bringing about the patient's "miraculous" recovery from a coma.  But read the original story below after seeing the video:

Sam Schmid, an Arizona college student believed to be brain dead and poised to be an organ donor, miraculously recovered just hours before doctors were considering taking him off life support.  Schmid, a junior and business major at the University of Arizona, was critically wounded in an Oct. 19 car accident in Tucson, which took the life of his friend and roommate.

It's time to say "No Deal" to the Democrat-Lite Republican Leadership

It is time for Republicans to give unqualified support to conservatives of stature and experience like Nebraska State Attorney General Don Stenberg, running for the Senate seat held by Democrat Ben Nelson of Nebraska.  The Republican leadership in the Senate, consisting of so-called Republicans or RINOs (Republicans In Name Only), are terrified of ultimately losing their positions of power where they are quite willing to continue their habits of big spending just like the Democrats at the expense of our economy and our freedoms under our Constitution.

So they have put into this race Governor Dave Heineman of Nebraska who is one of "them" and, if elected, will operate under their tutelage.  These same leaders tried the same thing with Marco Rubio of Florida, Rand Paul of Kentucky and Mike Lee of Utah by supporting "their" candidates against these three in the primaries but fortunately the voters voted in these same three much more qualified and courageous conservatives.  Hopefully the voters of Nebraska will support Don Stenberg who will do the right things in the Senate for America should he be elected in November of 2012 in the most important General Election in American history.

What happens if none of the remaining six Republican candidates get a majority of delegates by convention time next summer?

There could be then a brokered convention and one of the Republicans on the "outside", that is, not one of the original candidates having gone through the primaries, could be voted upon in convention as the nominee of the Republican Party to oppose Obama.

The names of Governor Christie of New Jersey, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, Congressman Paul Ryan among others have been suggested and also this fiery former Governor of Alaska.  Possible? Probable? We shall see.

Nazi Atrocities in the Holocaust and the Right to Life

A few weeks ago, in my meanderings through the internet, I had caught glimpses of a couple who have given life to 19 children here in the USA.  My curiosity regarding a possible connection to opposition to abortion led me to a video clip on the couple's (Michelle and Jim Bob Dugger) website showing clips of the Nazi atrocities in the Holocaust followed by interviews of ordinary American citizens of today who were demonstrably opposed to these atrocities of the Nazi era but were not currently pro-life; but after seeing the clips from the holocaust most of these people identified abortion with the killing of innocent human life as was done by the Nazis.

Several decades ago the film “Yours, Mine and Ours” starring Henry Fonda and the witty comedian Lucille Ball, played the roles of Frank and Helen who dated each other and were considering marriage when they both had to reveal their "secrets" that each had been left with 10 and 8 children respectively after their spouses had died.  Following the humorous events that finally resulted in their marriage, Helen became pregnant and gave birth to the 19th child in the family.

But unlike the movie family of 18 children born of two separate couples with a 19th added later from the marriage of Frank and Helen, the Dugger family of 19 children are born of one couple, Michelle and Jim Bob Dugger.   Combining the 2 large families of children under one roof is one thing but my interest was further piqued, after first seeing their video on the holocaust and being pro-life, to find out the intriguing story that brought about a brood of 19 children born of one couple.

The story of the Dugger family is not an ordinary, but an extraordinary story of love for children and faith in God that is so lacking in our American society today.  Their dedication to the cause of restoring the right to life to all human beings, including the unborn, is a prominent feature of the many activities in their community work. Delving into this story has brought nothing but amazement in seeing how God works even in a society that seemingly has lost all sense of morality and which fosters the misguided concept that marriage, or any sexual union between male and female, need not result in any children at all, or no more than one or two children, using contraception and ultimately abortion to ensure this goal is met.  

The Dugger family, first accepted the wisdom of the world to control the births of their children with "the pill" so that a child is brought upon the scene at the right time, and with the wherewithal to take care of the child.  However, through the miscarriage of their 2nd child (which can be brought about when using the birth control pill), their faith and trust in God directed them to allow God to provide them with the gift of a child as well as the provisions to take care of them.  Their story is one of true faith in God for Whom nothing is impossible.
